LocTec Installation

Leave the laminate floor panels in the unopened pack for at least 24 hours or better still 48
hours at room temperature (18 degrees Celsius, 75% maximum humidity). A 0.2 mm thick
sheet must be laid on all cement surfaces and ceramic tiles. Uneven screed surfaces must be
leveled with suitable screeding  compound. The laminate floor panels must always be laid
floating for "normal" use on screeds (without bonding or adhesion to the surface.)

  • Begin in the left hand corner with tongue facing the wall.
  • Install the end seams together at 45° angle.
  • Lower the panel to the subfloor.

  • Start the second row with cut from the last row.
  • A minimum of 8" is required between the joint seams.
  • Tongue inserts into the groove on approximately 45° angle
on the long side of the panel.
  • Lay this panel completely flat on the sub-floor.

  • Insert short seam into the first panel of the second row
  • Slide the tongue as close to the existing row as possible.
  • Lower the panel completely to the sub-floor.
  • In this position the long tongue will be laying on the existing
    panel groove.

  • Lift the panel up off the sub floor.
  • Pull the panel on short seam towards the existing row.
  • Long seam needs to be completely inserted into the groove
    (this will require slight pressure).
  • Lower the panel to the sub-floor.
  • Continue this procedure for the remaining installation.
