Tall Fescue is made for sand or rubber filled installations. The product
looks and feels like the type used in the Major Professional Stadiums. The
sand adds ballast so the turf will not move and the recycled rubber adds
cushion so the turf is soft and safe. The rubber crumbs also keep the sand
from chipping off the tips of the yarn. You will never see the sand or
rubber unless you dig down into the turf. The 1 3/4 inch fill is hidden  by at least
1/4 inch yarn that lays over and acts as a cover.

Tall Fescue is among a new group of products which we may call the Natural
Artificial Turf Collection. This collection uses different amounts of round dry
sand combination with equal amounts of dry recycled rubber crumbs. The Turf
can be installed loose laid or glued down directly to the concrete. The 1 3/4"
Pile Height can be installed with 100% rubber crumbs if the G-Max or fall height
standard is important . 
Baseballs have a natural ball bounce with about 2-3 pounds of sand per square 
foot and about 2 lbs. of rubber per square foot. Grass Tex can ship the sand
and rubber with each field at a very low cost. The Cost per Square foot for
the rubber and sand is usually $0.70 per Square Foot.
